The venue (the Faculty of Industrial Engineering) is located in a scenic area on the outskirts of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, surrounded by mountains and countryside, offering a unique contrast to the urban atmosphere of the city.
To reach the venue by public transport, you can take the lines 25 or 26 (Guaguas Municipales – yellow urban buses) or the line 327 (Global – blue interurban buses). These lines depart from Santa Catalina/ Auditorium near Playa de las Canteras and take approximately 40 to 50 minutes, depending on traffic.
If you prefer a faster and more direct option, the trip by car or taxi takes around 20 minutes and the average cost of a taxi drive from the city centre to the venue is around 12€.
While visiting the Faculty, we highly recommend taking a short 10 minute walk to the Jardín Canario (Viera y Clavijo Botanical Garden), the largest and most diverse botanical garden in Spain - a must-see natural treasure nestled in the surrounding landscape.
URBAN BUS
The main public transport system in the city is operated by Guaguas Municipales (https://www.guaguas.com), the local bus service. The city does not have a metro or tram network, but buses provide efficient access to most key locations, offering reliable service with frequent departures.
Main routes of interest:
Lines 1 & 12: Connect the main bus stations of San Telmo and Santa Catalina, passing through the city centre.
Lines 25 & 26: Connects the city centre with the university campus (Campus de Tafira).

Single tickets can be purchased directly from the driver using cash, contactless card, or through the Guaguas LPA mobile app.
For frequent travel, you can opt for a travel pass. The BonoGuagua is valid only on urban buses and can be bought at kiosks, shops, and main bus stations across the city (see sales points here). Besides international rental companies, there are several local and affordable options that are highly recommended, like CICAR or Autos Moreno.
